Golden Gardens is great but if you want a little bit more isolation, head a little bit farther up the coast to Carkeek Park. Park at the top and enjoy the walk down though dappled sunlight filtering through the trees. Don’t forget to tell your date to wear comfortable shoes. Japanese girls love to wear high heels and she won’t thank you on the way back up, unless you want to carry her. If you don’t have a car there are plenty of Seattle parks that fit the bill. Try the Burke-Gilman trail that winds its way through the University District and around the edge of Lake Union before it continues all the way to Golden Gardens. Don’t wear yourself out though remember, you’ll have to bike your way back as well.

Another great car-less getaway that your date will love is a ferry trip to Bainbridge Island. The ferry leaves right from downtown and so it is easy to get to. Pack a lunch and enjoy it on board while you take in the beautiful ocean views of Seattle and the surrounding islands. The gentle rocking of the boat will be the perfect motion to set your date on the right track. Once on Bainbridge you can check out the cute harbor town and quaint atmosphere just minutes from Seattle. Head back in the afternoon and walk or take the bus up to Belltown for a happy hour cocktail.

If you’re not quite sure what your date likes to eat head down to Pike Place Market. This famous tourist destination is great for locals as well. Be prepared to fork over for some fine food though as prices here are a little on the expensive side. That’s the price you pay for fresh delicacies of every variety. Go during the week or Friday afternoon to avoid the peak times.

Lake Union is located right in the heart of Seattle and it is an easy place to take in all of the sights of the city from. You can rent kayaks and canoes and head out on the water together. You’ll be all alone in a boat together so it is a great chance to get to know her better. You can find somewhere secluded to enjoy a little picnic lunch, or just float around taking it all in. Just don’t tip over, that will definitely sink your chances.

Another stylish location to take your art is Seattle’s famous Chihuly Garden and Glass museum. You may never have heard of this glass artist before but he is basically a household name in Japan.
